Inauguration Ceremony of First Dominican/Hispanic Elected Mayor In Massachusetts

Washington, DC. - The official inauguration ceremony of the Hon. William Lantigua (D), first Hispanic elected Mayor in Lawrence, MA, First Hispanic elected Mayor in the State of Massachusetts, and the second Dominican elected Mayor in the United States of America, will take place on Monday, January 4th, 2010 at 7 p.m. on 71 North Parish Road, Lawrence, MA. Doors open at 5:30 pm."On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Dominican American National Roundtable, I wish him much success as Mayor of the City of Lawrence," said Nestor Montilla, DANR President and Chairman of the Board.

"Congratulations Mr. Mayor!"

The oath-taking ceremony will be followed by a local celebration.Lantigua was born in the Dominican Republic. His previous political experience includes serving as representative in the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 2003 to the present.
